Point.51 is a independent print magazine exploring essential contemporary issues in Europe — one at a time.

Stories broken quickly are often stories half told. We take a different approach. In each edition we explore a single theme, working slowly and in depth to try and understand the complex realities beyond the headlines.

We’re interested in human experiences and individual perspectives from the ground up, staying with the issues we cover for sustained periods of time. We want to be challenged and inspired by the stories we work on. We choose them because we think they matter, working with people from around the world who share our commitment to a different kind of journalism in order to produce a thorough, honest, and meaningful print magazine that is more than a sum of its parts.

We travel from Serbia to the French-Italian border, to the North of England and the often-maligned French city of Calais to explore the journey undertaken by asylum seekers searching for sanctuary, as well as that of the ordinary citizens living in the towns and communities caught up in the largest mass movement of people to and across Europe since World War II.
