The Bikepacking Journal – Issue 01
The Bikepacking Journal is a printed collection of inspiring writing and beautiful photography that is simply too good to be confined to a screen.
Published just twice a year, printed in Germany using the highest quality materials, and available in limited quantities, we see The Bikepacking Journal as an alternative to today’s ubiquitous glossy magazines. It’s our hope that you’ll find the stories worth revisiting and sharing with friends. We’ve obsessed over every detail to design the most beautiful printed product possible, and to create the most enjoyable experience for our readers. Take a break from your screen, pour yourself a cup of coffee, and let our group of passionate contributors transport you to incredible dirt roads and trails in nearly every corner of the world. Find issue details below alongside web exclusives and the occasional Journal story we release to the public from archived issues.
The inaugural issue of The Bikepacking Journal is bursting with over a dozen pedal-powered stories and essays that span 148 colorful pages. From remote fjords in Greenland, to muddy passes in the Andes Mountains, to dusty roads in South Africa, we’ve searched the globe for the best writing and most beautiful photographs captured from the saddle of a bicycle. We invite you to join our contributors as they share the stories of the many interesting people they’ve encountered while riding, reflect on what they’ve learned along the way, and offer intimate glimpses of some of our planet’s most beautiful places. We’re thrilled to finally bring this publication to life, and we hope you’ll enjoy reading our first issue as much as we’ve enjoyed putting it together.
