Mother Tongue is a biannual print magazine that interrogates (and celebrates) modern motherhood through inclusive stories about art, sex, pop culture, politics, food and a few things in between.

It’s not about kids or how to parent them: it’s about the nuanced lives we are living—as mothers, and much more.

Our second issue is officially here, and it’s all about … hockey. And stripping. And massage guns. And Japanese calligraphy. And peeling carrots. And buying training bras. But it’s also about the harsh realities of mothering through uncertainty, grief, and unforeseen catastrophe. It’s about the complexities of sex after children. Holding onto identity. And letting go of striving.
