The Local Project – Issue 21

The Local Project is an Australian architecture and design magazine focused on exceptional homes, interiors and creative practices across Australia, New Zealand and North America.

Published three times a year, it combines residential architecture, interior design, profiles and material culture in a highly visual print format.

Issue 21 is fronted by Quiet House by Adriano Gaetano Architecture and Marlowe Volkering Design, an introspective home on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula shaped around stillness rather than spectacle. The issue also features work by Fearon Hay, Smart Design Studio, Matyas Architects & Interiors, Zyme Studios, Daniel Boddam, HGA Studio and Carter Williamson Architects.

Also inside are profiles on Tom Dixon, Daniel Boddam, Tali Roth, Walker Workshop, Gemma Smith and Lindsey Adelman, alongside stories on contemporary homes, furniture, lighting, art and design. The Commercial Project section extends into retail, accommodation, hospitality, workplace and wellness, while The Local Marketplace presents products, finishes and makers from across Australia, New Zealand and North America.

The issue is presented as a three-part set housed together in a slipcase. The main volume focuses on residential architecture, interiors and design. It is accompanied by The Commercial Project, featuring projects and profiles across retail, accommodation, hospitality, workplace and wellness, and The Local Marketplace, a comprehensive product and finishes guide highlighting designers, artists, makers and distributors across Australia, New Zealand and North America.
